Could non-EU citizen improve his/her qualification in the Center?
Non-EU citizens are allowed to improve their qualifications only when they are issued a residence permit. 
 
I am citizen of the EU. Could I participate in the professional training courses if I do not speak Lithuanian?
All training courses are delivered in Lithuanian language.
 
Could you issue certificate/copy of certificate in English language?
Certificates, their copies and notes are issued only in Lithuanian language.

I have completed nursing studies in the Trinity College Dublin. I would like to work in Lithuania. Could you assess my qualification?

There are two main types of the recognition of foreign qualifications: academic and professional.

Academic recognition

Academic recognition means assessment of the qualification value in terms of academic requirements, i. e., it is determined if qualification in general meets requirements set up for qualification in Lithuania in the contexts of academic background.

In Lithuania depending on the level of acquired education and the goal pursued, recognition of academic qualifications is conducted by the Center for Quality Assessment, https://www.skvc.lt/dafault/en/.

Professional recognition

Professional recognition means assessment of qualification value in terms of professional requirements, i. e., it is determined if qualification in general meets requirements set up for certain professional activity in Lithuania.

It is recognition of the professional qualification acquired abroad when person seeks to conduct certain professional activities. To recognize professional qualification not only acquired qualification is important, but also determination if personal knowledge, professional abilities and skills are sufficient to conduct certain professional activities in the host country.

Since November 1, 2019 assessment and recognition of professional qualifications of healthcare specialists is conducted by the State Healthcare Accreditation Agency, https://www.vaspvt.gov.lt/en.


 How competence of the nurse helper is assessed?

Providers of the professional training according to the Nurse Helper Training Program apply to the Center of Excellence of Healthcare and Pharmacy Specialists which is accredited competence assessment institution. Competence assessment consists of two parts.

Tests for the assessment of theoretical knowledge and practical skills are developed by the working group for the development of tests of the Center of Excellence of Healthcare and Pharmacy Specialists. At least 200 questions with three optional answers (of which one is correct) are developed. Test consists of 100 questions.

At least 3 practical tests are developed to assess practical skills.

Tests for the assessment of theoretical knowledge

Center of Excellence of Healthcare and Pharmacy Specialists offers two types of the evaluation of theoretical knowledge: electronic or printed.

Printed tests for the evaluation of theoretical knowledge are assessed by Commission within the same day. Results of electronic test are presented immediately.

When persons’ theoretical knowledge is scored satisfactory (4-10 points), he/she is referred for the evaluation of practical skills.

Tests for the assessment of practical skills

Commission for the assessment of practical skills acquired by the person is composed of at least three appraisers: representative of certain profession employees, representative of the employer, and profession teacher.

Before start of the practical testing, Commission familiarize persons under testing with practical testing content, its course, requirements for safety and health, requirements for fire prevention and public health, provides necessary means for testing, instruction manuals and materials; content of the work and time limits are also presented.

When persons’ competences are favorably received, professional training provider issues Professional Training Diploma based on the data of Students’ Registry.

Could private person develop and submit for approval training program for the advanced training of healthcare professionals?

In accordance with the Rules of harmonization of training programs for the advanced training of healthcare professionals approved by the Order No V-645 of June 28, 2011 of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Lithuania “On the approval of the Code of the Valuation Committee for the Rules of harmonization of training programs for the advanced training of healthcare professionals and training programs”, training programs could be submitted for harmonization by enterprises,  institutions and organizations of the Republic of Lithuania conducting informal education of the healthcare professionals.


Who is allowed to organize single healthcare professionals’ advanced training event?

Single healthcare professionals’ advanced training event could be organized by educational institution, organization representing healthcare and pharmacy specialists, patients, and public administration institutions.

Single healthcare professionals’ advanced training event shall be in line with the framework of the training event described in the Order No 132 of March 2002 of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Lithuania “On the professional training of healthcare and pharmacy specialists and procedure of its financing” (revision of November 8, 2018 of the Order No V-1260 of the Minister of health of the republic of Lithuania).


Is scientific paper published by the journal “Slauga. Mokslas ir praktika” (“Nursing. Science and Practice”) considered as an improvement of nurses’ professional qualification?
 
The journal  “Slauga. Mokslas ir praktika” (“Nursing. Science and Practice”) is a recognized scientific journal in Lithuania. Scientific paper published in the journal “Slauga. Mokslas ir praktika” (“Nursing. Science and Practice”) is considered as an improvement of nurses’ professional qualification. In accordance with legislation in force 30 hours divided by the number of authors are counted as improvement of professional qualification.
 
Where the peer-reviewed journal  “Slauga. Mokslas ir praktika” (“Nursing. Science and Practice”) could be subscribed?
